Isabella Stabio, born in 1985, got her Saxophone Degree with top marks at Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin in 2005.
She went on with her studies at the stated Conservatory and she got the Diploma Accademico di II Livello in Saxophone with top marks and honours (110/110 cum laude) in 2007.
She was then admitted to Conservatoire National de Région in Lyon, in the international class directed by Jean-Denis Michat, where in 2008 she got the Diplome d'Etudes Musicales in Saxophone unanimously.
She also attended, at the stated Conservatory, courses in Chamber Music (class directed by Daniel Foubert), Counterpoint and Harmony (class directed by Georges Aloy) and a high specialization course in Saxophone.
She attended many international masterclasses, held by Claude Delangle, Jean-Denis Michat, Vincent David, Joseph Lulloff, Kenneth Tse, John Sampen, Johannes Ernst, Bruno Totaro, Marco Albonetti, Christian Wirth, Fabrizio Mancuso, Philippe Braquart, Griffin Campbell, Claire Koffmann, Mario Marzi, the Quatuor de Saxophones 'Habanera', Jean-Charles Richard, at Festival Internazionale del Sassofono of Faenza (from 2005 to 2009), at Université Européenne pour le Saxophone of Gap (2005), at Musicariva Festival of Riva del Garda (2006) and at Conservatoire National de Région of Lyon (2006-2007).


She has won many contests, among which:

  She won four times the award scholarship at Festival Internazionale del Sassofono of Faenza (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009), the prize Fausto Dal Pozzo at the stated Festival and the award scholarship Master dei Talenti Musicali awarded by Fondazione CRT (2007).

  In 2009 she founded, in duo with organist Luca Massaglia, the Duo Ricercare (see homepage), which has performed in various Italian venues, in Austria (Bad Schallerbach, Maria-Lourdes Kirche), England (London, St. Peter's Italian Church), Germany (Wilster, St.-Bartholomäus-Kirche), Portugal (Lisbon, Deutsche Evangelische Kirche; Leiria, Sé Catedral de Nossa Senhora da Conceição), Switzerland (Verscio, TI, Chiesa di San Fedele Martire) and U.S.A. (Methuen, MA, Methuen Memorial Music Hall; Boston, MA, King's Chapel, Trinity Episcopal Church and Arlington Street Church; Westfield, MA, Second Congregational Church, 2010 and 2011; Plymouth, MA, Church of the Pilgrimage).
  
  She has also performed two concerts in duo with German organist Kristian Schneider at Martin-Luther-Kirche in Linz (Austria).
  
  
  She has taken part in the following ensembles: Fiarì Ensemble of Turin (for the execution of Façade by William Walton at Baretti Theatre in Turin), Fiatinsieme Winds Orchestra, Winds Orchestra of Piedmont, J. Futura Orchestra of Trento (for the execution of La création du monde by Darius Milhaud), Saxophones Ensemble of Université Européenne pour le Saxophone of Gap (concert at Veynes), Orchestre d'Harmonie of Conservatoire National de Région of Lyon (conducted by Yves Cayrol), Musique Militaire de la Région Terre Sud-Est (conducted by Pascal Charton, Benoit Meurin and Yves Cayrol).
  She has been part of the Saxophone Ensemble L'Artisanat Furieux of Lyon, with which she has performed concerts in prestigious concert halls of Lyon (among which Amphi de l'Opéra, Salle Thomas, Salle Debussy).
  
  
  In 2010 she recorded a cd titled Solo Sax One and in 2011 another one titled Sax goes Baroque!.
  Still in 2011 she recorded, in duo with organist Luca Massaglia (Duo "Ricercare") a cd titled Ástor Piazzolla - ritratto d'autore, for Elegia Records label.
  She has contributed to the recording of two cds with two piedmontese winds groups.
  
  
  She is saxophone professor at Giuseppe Verdi Music School of Venaria Reale.
