The Duo ''Ricercare'' was born in 2009 through the initiative of Isabella Stabio and Luca Massaglia, organist.

The name "Ricercare'', usually used in music for a kind of composition, here it is rather to be intesa like search, the search for a path of spiritual elevation that man can do to realize the true meaning of his life, in the tentativo to build hope and confidence in the existence of a higher world, eternal, immutable, just, and to establish a path to it.

Various disciplines - artistic or not - may accompany the man in this quest; among them, music is undoubtedly a privileged expression.

Tension towards spirituality, towards infinity inevitably familiarized with the transience of the material, of human passions.
The Duo ''Ricercare'' aims to describe the tortuous inner journey of man's soul through an eclectic repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary world, and which includes - among others - both markedly secular pieces and pieces of sacred music.

The duo has performed concerts in many Italian venues and abroad:
Austria: Bad Schallerbach, Maria-Lourdes-Kirche
England: London, St. Peter's Italian Church
Germany: Wilster (Schleswig-Holstein), St.-Bartholomäus-Kirche
Portugal: Lisbon, German Evangelic Church; Leiria, Nossa Senhora da Conceição Cathedral

U.S.A.: Methuen (MA), Methuen Memorial Music Hall; Boston (MA), King's Chapel, Trinity Episcopal Church, Arlington Street Church; Westfield (MA), Second Congregational Church (2010 and 2011); Plymouth (MA), Church of the Pilgrimage

In November 2011 the Duo has recorded, for Elegia Records label, a cd titled "Ástor Piazzolla - ritratto d'autore". It's the first world recording of pieces of the Argentinian composer arranged for organ and saxophone.
